Bobbie Sue Baxter

Bobbie Sue Baxter, age 95, of Gainesville, GA, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Mrs. Baxter was born on Feb. 24, 1930, to the late Grover and Fannie Rosalee Latimer.  She married Dewey Baxter in May 1952 and together they raised three children, Dewey Jr, Linda, and Dennis, while living in Decatur, Ga.  Bobbie enjoyed gardening and was known for her large vegetable gardens every year.  She was an avid reader, especially of mystery books.

Mrs. Baxter was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Sr., their daughter, Linda, and 11 siblings.  Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law Dewey Jr and Lisa Baxter of Ponce Inlet, Fl; Dennis and Pam Baxter of Bogart, Ga; grandson Alden Eavenson, his wife Sachi, and great-grandson Charlie, all of Oakland, CA.  

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14, at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home on McEver Rd in Gainesville, GA.  A funeral service will be held immediately afterward at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Chris Anderson officiating.  Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Resthaven Gardens located in Decatur, GA.
