Fred was born in Fort Dick, CA then relocated with his family to the Coos Bay Oregon area where he graduated from Reedsport Union High School then entered the United States Army as a Paratrooper 82nd Airborne Division. After sustaining a wound, during training, he spent nearly a year at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington DC. After being discharged as a Disabled Veteran he continued his education and received his Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
He resided in the Washington DC area and raised a family, but later moved south to Alabama, then Georgia where he proudly served the Yaarab Shrine Temple Demorest for many years, working in the community raising thousands of dollars for The Shriners Children's Hospitals. He was recognized consistently from 1994 — 2002 for his fundraising.
Our Dad, Husband, Pop Pop, worked hard and diligently for many employers throughout his life. Notably Rodman's Drug Store in Washington, DC & Habersham Winery in Demorest, not retiring till his late 70's.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, BBQing, working in his yard, feeding his fish off of the dock in his backyard and most of all spending time with his wife and extensive family at the many family/Holiday gatherings hosted by his daughter Michelle (he loved her pumpkin pie) and fishing trips hosted by his son Allen.
Memorial Service honoring his life well lived will be held at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemeteries 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, GA on Thursday 5 October 2023 at 12:30pm.
