Harold Boland Obituary

Harold Alan Boland 1940 – 2021

Alan passed away on December 23, 2021 at the age of 81 in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Braselton, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife Margie; and his parents Raymond and Anna Boland.

He is survived by his daughter Kristin (Rich) Fruhwirth, his son Ryan (Gracemarie) Boland; his 6 grandchildren: Savanna (Taylor) Baldwin, Hayley, Tessa, Nathan, Nicholas and Jonathan; his great-grandson Walter; his brother Raymond (Donna) Boland and his sister Marylu (Gary) Silka.

Alan was a beloved Grandpa by all of his grandchildren. He cherished his time with them and always made them laugh and smile. They loved reading books, playing legos and watching movies together. Most endeared are the stories he told. They all loved Grandpa!

Al was one of the coolest guys you’d have ever met. He made an impression on everyone throughout his life including his nurses in the hospital during his final days, who greatly enjoyed him as their patient.

Alan was born and raised until the age of 14 on the south side of Chicago. His family moved to Friendship, WI where he finished high school. He enjoyed his many friends especially while playing sports. Football was his favorite.

Alan worked as a business man during his life. He entered the trucking industry shortly after high school while attending night school at Northwestern University in Chicago. Among many accomplishments in his career, he played a major role in the national launch of truck rental for Budget Rent-A-Car. Alan spent his last 17 years as a Real Estate Agent in Spring Hill, Florida, serving as President of the Hernando County Association of Realtors in 2010.

He loved the Florida weather and especially enjoyed a round of golf on Saturday and a glass of wine and cigar in the evening. Alan was a man of faith and strong personal character. He believed in taking care of himself and those around him, a great role model to his children. He was deeply patriotic and proud of his service in the Army.

Alan was a man who truly enjoyed his life and the people in it. He is forever loved and will be deeply missed.

Alan will be remembered by family at a small gathering in his daughter’s home.
