James "Jim" Norman Paullin
James “Jim” Norman Paullin, 78, of Dawsonville Georgia, passed away on August 23rd, 2023.
Jim was born on December 8th, 1944 to Robert “Bob” Paullin and Kathaleen “Katie” Miller in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Jim graduated from Emory University with a B.A. in Economics and an MBA in finance and marketing. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Kathy Paullin, the day after graduation 1967. He worked as the National Accounts Representative at Mead Packaging and then taught finance at Georgia State University before starting a business with his wife. They expanded their first independent distributorship into 12 countries within eight years.
Jim went on to be a director for a leadership development company, then co-founded a unique field-owned and led company to offer independent entrepreneurs an opportunity to improve their lives and help bring our country back to its founding principles of honesty, integrity, responsibility and courage.
Jim and Kathy have been members of Free Chapel in Gainesville, Georgia for 25 years where he faithfully served as an usher every week. He also served at Good Samaritan Ministries where food and necessities would be distributed to those in need. He was known as the honorary “sheriff.”
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles “Chuck” Paullin and his son Jeffrey Michael Paullin.
Jim is survived by his wife Kathleen “Kathy” Paullin of 56 years, his daughter Lynette Williams (Joey), Gabriela Campos-Paullin (Jeff), grandchildren Adam Williams (Brandi), Jamie Lowe (Cameron), Jackson Williams, and Andrew Williams (Julia), and great grandchildren Jonathan, Brandon, and Stetson Williams.
A double memorial service for Jim and Jeff Paullin will be held on Wednesday, September 6th at The Chapel on McEver at Free Chapel, 3001 McEver Road in Gainesville, Georgia 30504. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and the service will commence at 12:00pm. A private reception for the family and close friends will follow.
Jeffrey "Jeff" Michael Paullin
Jeffrey “Jeff” Michael Paullin, 50, passed away on August 4th, 2023 from a massive brain hemorrhage while doing what he loved, riding his bike.
Jeff was born on April 28th, 1973 to James “Jim” and Kathleen “Kathy” Paullin in Atlanta, Georgia. Jeff attended Auburn University and Colorado State University. He worked in a transmission shop and later worked as a courier for many years.
Jeff's testimony of being radically saved from addiction to drugs and alcohol through an encounter with Jesus has been life changing for all who have heard it.
Jeff met the love of his life, Gabriela “Gaby” Campos, while visiting his uncle in Mexico. They married in Roswell, Georgia in 2020 and went on to live in Morelia, Mexico. They are expecting their first child, Alyssa Madison, this October 2023.
Jeff preceded his father James “Jim” Paullin in death, by two and a half weeks.
Jeff is survived by his wife Gabriela “Gaby” Campos-Paullin and their coming daughter, Alyssa Madison Paullin. He is also survived by his mother Kathleen “Kathy” Paullin, sister Lynette Williams (Joey), and nieces and nephews: Adam (Brandi), Jackson, Andrew (Julia) Williams, and Jamie Lowe (Cameron) and great-nephews, Jonathan, Brandon, and Stetson Williams.
