Ken Flammang passed away on January 17 th , 2025 after a battle with Alzheimer’s. Ken was born on April 29 th , 1940 in Minot, North Dakota. He graduated from St Leo’s high school in 1958.

He joined the Armythat fall. After the army, he returned home and attended Minot State University for two years before transferring to North Dakota State University where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career working in the plastics industry for Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan. In December of 1961 Ken married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Nelson. They were married for 63 years and leaned on each other through their frequent moves. They were blessed to make many lifelong friends each place they lived. He adored his wife to his last day. He was a shining example to his family of what true love is.

Ken is survived by his wife Dorothy Flammang of Hoschton, Georgia: his children Jon Flammang (Mindy) of Dacula, Georgia, and Kristi Thayer (Chris) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was the proud grandfather to Lindsey Miller (Kyle), Mitchell Flammang (Emma), Chad Martire and Kylene Martire; and a great grandfather to Naomi Miller. He is also survived by a brother, two sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Ken and Dorothy spent the last 22 years living in Gainesville, Georgia on Lake Lanier. They enjoyed many special times on the lake with family and friends. After retirement he enjoyed golfing, volunteering at church and watching his grandchildren grow up. Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
