Obituary

Peter Joseph McDonald, PHD., age 70, died Friday, January 22, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen McDonald of Detroit, Michigan. Peter earned a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Tulane University in 1975 and was a professor of Psychology at the University of North Georgia for 28 years. Peter was known as a dynamic, inspirational professor who had a tremendous impact on many students over the years. He enjoyed meeting new people everywhere he went and never lost his love for helping others and sharing his passion for psychology. Throughout his life, he remained a firm believer in free will and personal responsibility, and he always wanted people to be the best version of themselves that they could be. Though he left behind no wife or children, he will be sorely missed by his relatives in Michigan and his friends and former colleagues in Georgia.
