Rita Harritt (Toles) Jeffers

Rita Harriet (Toles) Jeffers, 78, of Gainesville passed away on Thursday February 2, 2023 from a lengthy battle with lung cancer.  She was a loving, caring, beautiful soul that never met a stranger. Rita loved her family fiercely and fought until the end to try to spend as much earthly time as she could loving them. Rita also loved the thrills in life. She could often be found playing Bingo or going to the Casino. Her life was spent between Ohio and Georgia making memories with her large family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Easter Toles; her siblings: Mable Vanover, Susie Woody, Joe Toles, Jimmy Toles, JC Toles, and Lonnie Toles; her husband, Dan Jeffers, and her daughter, Lisa Toles Kennon. 

Rita leaves behind her children: Paul Everett (Lori) Toles, Joseph Ronald Worley, Sheila Worley Smith, Cheryl Lynn Andrews, and Lee Jay Worley.  Her siblings: Doris (Toles) Maly and Gary "Puddin" Toles.  Rita was blessed with a large extended family. Her seventeen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren will miss her tremendously. Celebration of life details will be shared at a later date. The family appreciates all thoughts, prayers, and messages of love. Life is short and sweet; grab a Coke with a straw, some chocolate, and a scratch off in honor of Rita. She would love that!
