Robert Allen Bell, 57, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 28, 2020. Robert was a complex person who brought fun, love and laughter into the lives of those around him. He was a Christian who struggeled with alcohol addiction all his adult and that brought conflict, difficulties and heartache to himself and others. He is a loved and forgiven child of our Father in Heaven.
Robert's favorite hobby was deep sea fishing. He worked for a short time as a deck hand on "Miss Cape Canaveral" out of Port Canaveral, FL, but soon decided his love for deep sea fishing was much better as a hobby than a career. He, also, enjoyed cooking, gardening and going to auctions for the thrill of the "find". He was an avid collector of vintage Matchbox cars. He didn't especially like cats.
As his career, Robert worked in grocery produce. His first job, at age 16, was for H.E.B. in San Antonio, Texas as a produce stockman. From that beginning, he rose to position of Produce Manager and worked for several large supermarket chains in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia.
Robert leaves behind a loving family. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Dawn Bell, daughter, Elizabeth Nancy Ann Bell, and son, Matthew Allen Bell. He, also, leaves behind his mother, Nancy Barr and stepfather, Douglas Barr, sisters, Tracey Bell and Trena Key, uncle, George Jankowski, several nieces and nephews and parents-in-law, Donald and Sue Hudson.
A family gathering will be planned at a later date to celebrate his life, remember the good times and tell some stories. There are some funny ones. We miss you so much, Bob!
