Virginia Dianne Cross

Virginia “Dianne” Cross, of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga. She was 72.

Ms. Cross is survived by her son, David Cross (LeeAnne) of Cleveland, Ga.; her siblings, Juanita Boyd of Gainesville, Ga., and Thomas Wilson of Lithonia, Ga.; and her grandchildren, Kevin Cross (Katie Anna) of Cleveland, Ga and Kayla Cloud (Clay) of Camilla, Ga. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles N. and Beulah W. Wilson, and seven siblings.

Ms. Cross was born August 1, 1951 in Gainesville, Ga., the youngest of ten children. She was raised there and lived in Gainesville most of her life. She was a hard-working woman, working at Chicopee Manufacturing Company as well as numerous other places through the years to support herself and her son. For fun, she loved fishing and working on cars. She had a special place in her heart for her chihuahuas, Casey and Bonita. Later on in life, she moved to Cleveland, Ga., to live with her son and his family.

She was a devoted mother and caring grandmother, putting her family first before anything else. Her absence will be deeply felt, and she will always be treasured in the hearts of those she loved.

Hillside Chapel and Funeral Home has been selected for arrangements. Ms. Cross will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Alta Vista Cemetery, alongside her parents and siblings.
